5/30/2009 - One
year! Wow.
On
5/31/2009, Noobs will celebrate it's first
brithday. I look back on the past year and
question if it really has been just one year. In
some ways, it seems I have been open far longer,
and and in some other ways, it seems I just opened
the doors yesterday.
I have
seen the full range of emotions of the past year.
I have seen the negative, with anger, horror,
sadness, disappointment, disgust, and regret. I
have also experienced the joy, happiness, success,
pride, accomplishment, and thankfulness. even
though, I have seen all of those emotions, I know
it is only the beginning.
Before
I go further, there is a laundry list of people I
need to thank for this past year.
Patti, Gina, Steve and Jonah, thank you for believing in me,
and being there when I needed you, and for
supporting me through all the rough times. I have no way
of showing my grattitude, other than telling you
I love you. Ultimately, you four suffer the most,
and get little in return. How utterly fortunate am
I to have a family of such amazing people behind
me?
Mom and
Dad, your support both financially and emotionally
has been a blessing. I would not be writing this
now were it not for you two. You continue to
support me, even though the times should say
otherwise. If everyone were blessed with parents
such as you, our world would be nearly perfect.
Andy
and Jan, thank you for helping me when I needed
it. I still owe you a lot, and know just how much
you have given of yourselves. I would not be here
without your help.
Bindle,
my bald little gnome. What can I say? Keep being
there when I need it, and keep kicking my shins
when I am screwing up at home. Thank
you.
Robert
and Cody, you two have been putting up with my
weird rules and picking up the pieces for me when
I needed it, and contributing in ways I never
dreamed normal customers would ever contribute. I
will not forget your support and someday,
hopefully, you will reap the rewards you
deserve.
Finally
to my customers. Ultimately, you are the ones that
have made this place possible. I cannot provide
anything really spectacular to celebrate our
anniversary, but I do have a little surprise for
my most loyal customers. I will be going through
the member list, and those that have been the most
active and supportive will be invited to a very
special and exclusive invitation-only lock-in
party, held on a Saturday night, at absolutely no
charge to you. Does that describe my thankfulness
enough?
Okay, I
have been mushy enough for one day! Lets get
gaming folks!
